A true story of German-Jewish heroism

1940: the German-Jewish resistance fighter Lisa Fittko and her husband Hans arrive in Banyuls-sur-mer, France, to set up an underground operation smuggling refugees from Nazi-occupied France over the Pyrenees mountains to safety in Spain. Despite facing enormous risks and challenges, they succeed in establishing a safe and reliable route over the mountains while avoiding arrest. The route is named the “F-route”: F for Fittko. After saving hundreds of lives, they themselves must find a way to safely escape France. Based on a true story.
